Umpiring Courses: Into Umpiring & C Umpire Course
For all enquiries regarding the Into Umpiring Course and the C Umpire Course, your first point of contact should be the County.
We can support you every step of the way, guiding you through the application process and helping you progress toward your qualifications. We also offer mentoring support to help you prepare confidently for your assessments.

Coaching
Coaching Courses & County Support
All coaching courses are booked through England Netball. Please visit the England Netball website to view available courses and make a booking.
While course bookings are handled nationally, the County is here to offer local support and guidance to coaches at all levels.
GMCNA can provide:
- Opportunities to observe County performance sessions
- Guidance on player development and progression pathways
- Support with coaching plans, session design, and training load
If you have any questions or need advice on your coaching journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help you grow and succeed.

Volunteering
Our sport simply cannot thrive without volunteers. We are incredibly grateful for the amazing individuals who give their time, and we always need more helping hands!
If you have even a little time to spare, we’ll help you get involved in a way that works for you — with clubs, schools, leagues, or the County. Volunteering can be flexible, and any time or skills you can offer are genuinely appreciated.
Volunteering roles include:
- Washing and organising kit
- Booking venues and facilities
- Helping with safeguarding or GDPR
- Running or supporting social media
- And much more — the list is endless!
As a County, we’re here to connect you with opportunities and to support you. We offer:
- Sharing of good practice
- Ongoing development and support
- Advice on relevant training and courses

Para Netball
Our Para Netball sessions are run by Manchester Thunder, in partnership with Nichols plc, building on the fantastic programme originally launched by Dominoes Netball Club in 2021.
These inclusive sessions are delivered by qualified, DBS-certified coaches passionate about working with the SEND community. Our lead coach, Rebekah, is deaf and offers extra support to anyone who is deaf or has a hearing impairment.
Session Info
- When: 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, 10–11 am
- Who: For ages 11–25 (if you’re over 25, get in touch to explore future options)
- Cost: Free, thanks to funding from Nichols plc
Venues
- 1st Saturday: Wright Robinson, Gorton
- 3rd Saturday: Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre, Wythenshawe
Both venues are fully accessible for participants with disabilities.
What to expect
Each session follows a familiar structure to support routine:
- Warm-up
- Skill-building activities
- Fun, inclusive match play
Siblings are welcome to join in — just make sure they’re booked on too!
We focus on the ABILITY within disABILITY, ensuring that NetbALL really is for ALL.

Netball Development Sessions
Looking to get back on court or try netball for the first time?
Our Netball Development Officer, Danielle Colebourne, supports players of all ages and abilities — whether you’re returning to netball after a break, recovering from injury, haven’t played since school, or just want to try something new.
She coordinates a range of inclusive programmes:
- Back to Netball – perfect for adults looking to return to the sport
- Bee Netball – introducing children to netball in a fun, supportive way
- Walking Netball – a gentler version of the game, ideal for all fitness levels
Danielle also supports clubs and leagues across Greater Manchester, helping to grow and strengthen our local netball community.
