Netball League Information for New Teams
(2025/26 Season)
Here’s a quick overview of how our league operates to help new teams get started.
Home & Away Format: Each team plays one fixture per week, home and away.
Home Games: Each club provides its own venue and selects a match night (Monday–Thursday). This must be confirmed before the season starts.
Away Games: These may fall on a different weeknight depending on the home team’s chosen night.
Season Breaks:
- Christmas: No fixtures.
- End Goal: Season aims to finish around Easter.
- Occasional gap weeks are included to allow for rearranged matches (e.g. due to hall unavailability).
Each team must provide an umpire qualified at Grade C or above for every game.
All umpires must attend a Green Card induction session (in person or Zoom – date to be confirmed).
Division 1 matches require Grade B or above umpires (see league rules for full details).
We currently run 8 divisions (may expand based on entries).
New teams typically start in the lowest division, but:
- Placement flexibility may be considered for stronger teams (not guaranteed).
- Teams may request a specific division, though this cannot be guaranteed due to factors like player availability (injuries, pregnancies, etc.).
All players, umpires, coaches, and officials must be affiliated with England Netball for the 2025/26 season.
Full fixtures and detailed league rules will be distributed before the season begins.
